Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 17, 2026

Resurface ("the app", "we", "us") is built to be private by design. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data.

The short version

Photo library access

With your permission, Resurface reads photos from your device's photo library so you can view, organize, and delete them. This processing — including on-device machine-learning used to find similar/duplicate or blurry photos — runs locally on your device. Your photos and the results of this analysis are never uploaded to us or any third party. A small on-device cache of analysis results may be stored locally to avoid re-processing; it stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.

Deleting photos

When you choose to delete photos, the deletion is performed through Apple's system photo APIs, which require your explicit confirmation. Deleted photos follow Apple's normal behavior (they move to "Recently Deleted" and sync across your devices and iCloud). Resurface never deletes anything without your confirmation.

Subscriptions

Optional Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple's payment and privacy terms apply to those transactions.

Children

Resurface is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
